Before you begin
Anyone.
In Crittiks, open Settings › Migration and choose Something else or a spreadsheet. Keep a copy of the original export. Invite the teammates who should own the imported records before matching owners.
Prepare your files
Any CSV or Excel files: one per kind of record works best (companies, contacts, deals, projects, tasks).
One sheet per kind of record
Put companies, contacts, deals, projects or tasks in separate files or sheets, with a header row.
Name your columns plainly
“Company”, “Email”, “Stage”, “Due date” and so on. Crittiks recognises common names in any order; anything else can become a custom field.
Drop the files in Crittiks
Link records by putting the company name on each contact, or the contact's email on each deal.
What moves
- Companies, contacts and deals
- Notes and activities
- Projects and tasks
- Any extra column as a custom field
What stays in your old tool
- Anything that is not in the file
- Attachments and images
Preview and test in Crittiks
- Upload your export files in Settings › Migration and choose Read my files.
- Review the proposed record types, field mappings, owners and stages. Resolve warnings and save any changes.
- Choose Test with 25 of each. Inspect the imported sample in the relevant customer, Sales or Projects screens.
- Choose Undo the test if the result needs correcting. When it looks right, choose Import everything and review the confirmation.
- Read the final report and check representative records, their relationships and record counts.
After the import
The run’s report shows any records that need attention. Undo is available for 30 days; records edited or linked since the import may be kept and listed instead of being overwritten.
Just one quick file? The single-file importer on the Contacts page is faster.
