← All help guides

Before you begin

Any member of the project.

In Crittiks, open Settings › Migration and choose Asana. Keep a copy of the original export. Invite the teammates who should own the imported records before matching owners.

Prepare your files

One CSV export per project.

Export each project

Open the project, click the arrow beside its name, then Export/Print > CSV.

Asana: Export projects

Drop the files in Crittiks

Sections become task statuses; subtasks stay under their parent; assignees are matched by email.

What moves

  1. Each project export as a project
  2. Sections as task statuses
  3. Tasks and subtasks
  4. Assignees, matched to your team
  5. Due and start dates, tags

What stays in your old tool

  1. Email bodies and attachments
  2. Automations and workflows
  3. Reports and dashboards
  4. Comments and attachments
  5. Portfolios, goals and forms
  6. Rules

Preview and test in Crittiks

  1. Upload your export files in Settings › Migration and choose Read my files.
  2. Review the proposed record types, field mappings, owners and stages. Resolve warnings and save any changes.
  3. Choose Test with 25 of each. Inspect the imported sample in the relevant customer, Sales or Projects screens.
  4. Choose Undo the test if the result needs correcting. When it looks right, choose Import everything and review the confirmation.
  5. Read the final report and check representative records, their relationships and record counts.

After the import

The run’s report shows any records that need attention. Undo is available for 30 days; records edited or linked since the import may be kept and listed instead of being overwritten.

A task in several projects arrives once, in the project whose export it came from first.
