Setting custom access roles (Platinum and Enterprise)

Give each teammate access to the features and records they need.

Before you begin

Custom access is intended for Platinum and Enterprise. Use an account that can manage members and permissions. A feature can also be unavailable because it is switched off or excluded by the workspace’s plan.

Choose a Member account to configure individual access. Owner and Admin roles have different rules; a preset is not a replacement for understanding those roles.

Configure access

  1. Open Settings › Members and open the member’s access controls.
  2. Choose an Access preset as a starting point, or choose Custom.
  3. Expand each suite and select the access level for its features. Review view, editing and management access separately.
  4. Check Separate permissions. Then choose the appropriate scope: all or assigned projects, all or assigned records, and all or related customers.
  5. Save the changes. Ask the teammate to load the page again and confirm that the expected features and records are available.

Troubleshoot missing access

Read the availability message beside a feature. Granting access cannot enable a feature that is unavailable on the platform or switched off for the workspace.

If the member can open a feature but cannot see a particular record, check the record scope as well as the feature permission. Avoid granting broad access just to solve one missing record.
